Silicone for Rapid Protyping Molding

P-40 is a hard (Shore A-40) two parts platinum cure liquid silicone  with low viscosity, high tear strength and excellend durability. The main field of application of P-40 is hand casting, vacuum casting and low pressure casting for rapid prototyping. and it is particularly suitable for reproducing models with undercuts in polyurethane or epoxy resins. The  Molds are highly flexible and elastic, making it easy to remove the original model without damaging the mold or the casting.

We also can customize platinum cure silicone rubber/mold making for  the most suitable product according to your product size, pattern design, and operation method.

Deskripsi

Do you have a great idea? Do you want to make it real? This silicone is for you! It helps you make molds super fast. Then you can make your new things! This is called rapid prototyping. It is like a quick first look.

What is This Silicone?

This is a special silicone rubber molding material. It is soft and bendy. You can pour it. It will take the shape of your master pattern molds. Think of it like jelly. But it gets strong! This helps you make functional prototypes. These are first tries that work!

You can use RTV silicone molds. RTV means it gets hard at room temperature. No need for hot ovens! Many people use liquid silicone rubber (LSR). It flows well. This is good for mold fabrication.

Why Is This Silicone Great?

  • Super Fast:Make prototype toolingvery quickly. Your prototyping lead time will be short. Use fast-cure silicone to be even quicker! This is rapid manufacturing.
  • Easy to Use:Great for soft tooling. You can make flexible molds.
  • See Your Part:Some types, like BLUESIL™ RTV-2, are clear. You can see inside! 1
  • Strong Parts:Things made with this silicone are tough. They can take heat. This is high-temperature silicone. They resist sun and rain. This is called environmental stress resistance. They also have good silicone tensile strength.
  • Make Many:You can make a short-run production. Or even batch production molds. These are reusable molds.
  • Good for Details:Get good surface finish quality. It copies mold texture replicationvery well. It gives dimensional accuracy.
  • Save Money:It is cost-effective tooling.

You can do many prototype iteration cycles. This means you can try and try again!

What Can You Make?

  • Medical device prototyping: Make safe parts for doctors. Use bio-compatible silicone. Some are FDA-approved silicones.
  • Automotive prototypes: Make parts for cars.
  • Aerospace tooling: Make parts for planes and rockets. Protomaticis a company that does this.
  • Consumer product molds: Make toys, tools, and more!
  • Electronics encapsulation: Keep tiny electric parts safe.

You can even use it for Silicone for Home Crafts & Hobbies Mold Making. Or for big things like [Silicone for Furniture Mold Making] . Some people use it for old buildings with [Silicone for Architectural Restoration Molding.

Cool Things About This Silicone

What It IsWhat It MeansWhy It Is Good
Gets Hard EasyGets hard in room (RTV)Easy to use, saves cash
Strong & BendyTough but can bendParts last, do not break
Super Fast MakeParts in 2-4 weeksGet ideas out fast
Any ShapeMakes cool, new shapesMake neat stuff
Few or ManyGood for 1 to 1000 partsStart small, then grow
Safe for BodyCan be safe for doctor thingsGood for new health ideas

We care about silicone material properties. We also think about silicone curing time and silicone pot life (how long you have to work with it). Don’t forget degassing silicone to remove bubbles! Silicone shrinkage rate is also key for perfect parts.

How to Make Molds ?

  1. Design: Use tooling design software. Maybe Solid Worksor Siemens NX. This is part of CAD/CAM integration.
  2. Make a Master: This is your first shape. You can use 3D printed molds from printers like those by Stratasys, Formlabs, or MakerBot. HP Multi Jet Fusion and Carbon are other cool ways. GE Additive and EOS GmbH make big printers.
  3. Pour Silicone: Mix the two-part silicone. Pour it over your master.
  4. Cure: Let it get hard. This is silicone vulcanization.
  5. Demold: Take your new mold off the master. This is part demolding.

Things like silicone mold release agents help the parts come out. Pay attention to draft angles in molds and mold venting systems. Good industrial mold design thinks about mold undercuts. For better results, use vacuum casting. Mold temperature control and rapid mold cooling with conformal cooling channels can speed things up.

More Cool Stuff!

We can use silicone additives and silicone colorants. This silicone is a type of thermoset polymers. You can do over molding, insert molding, compression molding, rotational molding, transfer molding, and even silicone extrusion. We can make thin-wall molding and micro-molding for tiny parts.

Think about mold flow simulation with tools from ANSYS or Dassault Systèmes. Check UL Prospector® for material info. For checking parts, we use non-destructive testing. Sometimes we use mold reverse engineering with tools like Creaform scanners.

We can make multi-cavity molds to make many parts at once. Or hybrid tooling and composite molds. We aim for good silicone mold durability and a long silicone mold lifecycle. Don’t forget silicone mold maintenance and silicone mold registration.

This all helps make lightweight prototypes and parts with embedded components. We also look at silicone thermal conductivity and silicone adhesion prevention. The goal is precision prototyping and scalable molding. We want good prototype validation using rapid prototyping workflows and maybe digital twin prototyping. We follow ISO standards for molds and look at Industry 4.0 tooling. And yes, silicone recycling is important too!
